App Not Installed Error on Lookr XAPK: 6 Fixes
"App not installed" is Android's least helpful error message. It has at least six distinct causes, and the fix depends on which one you have. Work through these in order; the first two cover the large majority of Lookr XAPK cases.
Key takeaways: Most common: installing through a direct tap instead of an XAPK installer app, or a signature conflict with an existing Lookr build. Both take under a minute to fix.
1. Use an XAPK installer app
Tapping the XAPK directly often fails because Android's built in installer does not understand bundles. Open the file inside an XAPK installer app from the Play Store instead. Full steps in our XAPK install guide.
2. Remove the conflicting old build
If any older Lookr build is installed, the new one can fail on a signature conflict. Uninstall the old Lookr completely, reboot, then install fresh.
3. Re-download the file
An incomplete download installs nothing. Confirm the file is about 43.3 MB and named com.wecloud.lookr_1.5.7.1110.01.xapk. If the size is off, the download truncated, get it again from the official download page.
4. Free up storage
Installs need working space beyond the file size. If your phone is nearly full, clear some room first.
5. Check the Android version
Lookr needs Android 7.0 or newer. On anything older, the install will refuse no matter what you try.
6. Toggle unknown sources off and on
Rarely, the Install unknown apps permission gets into a bad state. Turn it off for your browser, back out, turn it on again, and retry.
