Lookr Keeps Crashing? Fixes That Work
Most Lookr crashes trace to three causes: a bad install, corrupted data, or memory pressure on low end phones. Match your symptom below and apply the fix; they are ordered from quickest to most thorough.
Key takeaways: Crash on launch: reinstall clean. Crash during use: clear cache and free RAM. Crash on old phones: check Android version and storage.
Crash on launch
This is almost always a bad install or a signature conflict with an older build. Uninstall Lookr completely, reboot the phone, and install the XAPK fresh. If you saw App not installed during setup, our six fixes apply.
Crash during search or playback
Force stop the app, clear its cache, and reopen. If crashes continue, free up RAM by closing background apps; the video player is the most memory hungry part. Persistent crashes on one specific video point to a bad source file, try a different result.
Crash on older or low end phones
Confirm you are on Android 7.0 or newer and have free storage. The Galaxy A13 in our test rack ran the app fine, so modest hardware is supported, but a phone with under 2 GB free RAM will struggle with HD playback. Dropping to lower quality sources helps.
The nuclear option
Uninstall, reboot, reinstall the verified build from the official download page. This resolves anything short of a hardware or OS incompatibility, and it is what our test protocol does between runs.
